Hill of Fire

The ox pulled, and the plow turned up the soil. Suddenly the plow stopped. The farmer and his son pushed, and ox pulled, but the plow did not move. It sank into the earth. It went down, down, down, into a little hole.

Today, I read Hill of Fire, a level 3 book in I Can Read Book series.
This story is about a farmer who live in Mexico. He and his neighbors are not rich, but they have everything their need. However, the farmer is not happy, and often says, "Nothing ever happens."
One day, he and his son plow the field. But suddenly the plow stops, and they find a little hole. Later, white smoke come from there. What is that hole...?
